Thing 13 – Online Conferencing

Exploring the world of online conferencing was like those commercials that tout “going to college in your pajamas”. Since we cannot all attend in person, the ability to attend the conference online and at our convenience is invaluable. The design of the site made it easy to peruse topics and select a session to explore.

My first session was Kelly Hines Little Kids. Big Possibilities . The focus on elementary-age students was what drew my interest. Kelly’s suggestions of Wallwisher, Wordle, Comic Creators, and Edmoto were all explained. Both Wordle and Comic Creators might be  tools that I might use in the classes I teach. Ms. Hines had suggestions on how she uses the sites in her classroom and invitations to join pages that she has established for practice and exploration.

As time permits, I am looking forward to continuing my online education.

Thanks for naming the tools that Kelly Hines recommended. This was one of the workshops that I considered attending but didn’t. It was great to read your summary. I have not heard of Wallwisher and I am going to look into it.
